If you want to get into Caribbean life straight away, why not try the local cuisine at Millie’s snack bar or the Coconut restaurant? Both can be found inside the terminal.
Depending on the length of your shore excursion, you may be keener to discover the many delights of this island straight away. A 20 minute walk or £1 taxi ride takes you straight to Bridgetown. Here you’ll find many craft shops and cafes, where you may want to rest your legs and observe local port life as you watch the boats sailing by. The Platinum coast also has immense luxury villas and hotels, sitting alongside the undulating, hilly countryside of the Scotland region. To really capture the island’s beauty, you may want to go to Cherry Tree Hill – at 850ft above sea level, this gives a commanding view that you won’t easily forget.
If you’re stopping off in Barbados, the chances are you’ll want to discover what the island is famous for – its stunning beaches. Brandon’s and Brighton beaches are just half a mile away from the terminal. The white sands of these beaches offer a tranquil retreat from the bustle of your cruise ship. You can lie down and soak up the sun, or if you feel like stretching your legs more, the calm, turquoise waters are ideal for swimming.

Virgin Atlantic & British Airways Passenger Refunds

As advised in the media, if passengers recently travelled longhaul on Virgin Atlantic or British Airways for over seven hours (not just trans-Atlantic) from August 2004 to March 2006, then refunds for incorrect passenger duty paid could be due from the airlines. You are advised to register your claim on www.airpassengerrefund.co.uk or apply by telephone. At present conservative estimates are £10 refund each way, i.e. £20 return. However due to US Court procedures this may take months to administer.
